New Life

Last night Camryn asked Jesus to put her back together with God (her words). How awesome is that?! She has asked questions about salvation from time to time and has always lost interest within 5 minutes of talking about it which is normal for a young child. A few evenings ago Luke was reading his bible to her before bed and prayed with her and during this time used the word "gospel". She asked him what "the gospel" was and he began explaining it to her. Well she changed the subject after a few minutes so he didn't say anything more about it. Then last night as he was tucking her into bed she said "Daddy, tell me more about the gospel and what that means again." So he explained it to her again and with her Daddy's help she asked Jesus to put her back to together with God. In her prayer she said "and Jesus I know You are the only One who can do this." Isn't that awesome?! I'm so thankful that God has answered our prayers for her salvation and my prayer is that she will be forever changed because of her decision last night!

Camryn's Birthday

I can't believe it has been six years already since our little girl was born! Time has flown by! What a gift from God she is to us. She brings so much joy to our lives everyday. For her birthday this year we decided to give her a much needed room makeover. We bought her a new bed, shelf, and chair from IKEA. We also purchased a desk from Target as well as some other decorative stuff. My parents bought her a quilt for her bed and some cute pillow cases. We moved her out of her room on Monday and started putting her room together. We stayed up late last night to finish it. The desk would not cooperate so there is no drawer or shelf. Luke said that it was missing a couple of screws. I guess we will have to take it back. Also, the chair we bought at IKEA wouldn't cooperate either...so frustrating. I guess we will have to find her another one. Other than those two things, her room turned out so cute! I still have a few wall decorations to put up, but those will have to wait. We woke her up early this morning because Daddy had to leave for work really early. She was so excited about her new room...almost overwhelmed by it! She hurried and got ready for school and then spent the rest of the morning sitting at her desk drawing! We all ate lunch with her at school too. I made a cookie cake for her to share with her friends. She said she had a "great birthday" because all her friends made cards and crafts for her at school! She loves getting all that attention! She is sleeping in the bed with me tonight because Daddy is out of town for work. We ended her birthday night by watching the Charlie Brown Valentine cartoon in bed. Now she is sound asleep and I think I will go join her!

I will post pictures of her new room tomorrow. Goodnight!

Last Week In Pictures

It looks like we put Grant in a skirt, but actually he just unbuttoned his pants. He thought it was pretty funny!

When Hannah comes to visit, Grant insists that Hannah sits right next to him while they eat lunch.

He's come a LONG way from a couple of years ago when he would scream and kick and fight when we would have to do this. Now he sits and holds it himself. Big boy!

Watching Sissy and Grant play outside.

Chase sleeping on his bear. He loves this bear! Thank you Mom and Dad!

In other news...

Chase can clap his hands! He's been fighting a cold and so I took him to the doctor a few days ago. He has an ear infection AGAIN! Agh! So frustrating! So he's back on antibiotics for that and the sinus junk too. I just don't understand why he gets sick all the time. Poor guy. I know he must be miserable because he's teething on top of all of it.

Grant got a hold of Camryn's fingernail polish and painted his eye and his arm (I think he thought it was makeup). He came to me and said "my eye Mommy, me eye!" I was freaking out because it was all pink and smelt really potent. I thought he had sprayed some kind of cleaner in his eye and it was turning into a rash! I kept saying "what is on your eye, show me, show me where it is!" He just walked around the house pointing at things and then I saw it sitting on the little end table opened up. I scrubbed him for a while and got it all off! Luckily I had just taken his clothes off of him and also somehow he didn't get a drop on the table or floor.

Camryn came home telling me that a boy named Joey wants her to be his girlfriend. Even though we've told her that she doesn't need to do the whole boyfriend/girlfriend thing, she insisted that she wanted him as her boyfriend. We've always told her that Daddy can be her boyfriend, but she decided that was no longer good enough. Then she proceeds to say "Well, I really love him, he's hot." WHAT?!?! What did you just say?? She then says, "oh yes, he's hot...what does that mean?" Haha! Well, here is what it means Camryn and don't EVER say that again! Thank you school friends! She told us a few days later, "Joey is handsome, I will just say that. I won't say he's hot or smooth." Haha! Where did smooth come from? That girl is sooo boy crazy! Lord, please help us when she is a teenager!

Infomercials

I've never seen a kid get so sucked into infomercials before. Camryn was watching her Saturday morning cartoons when she ran into the kitchen where I was doing the dishes and explained to me that we could get a shoe organizer to slide under her bed because her shoes are always a mess in the closet. You can actually get 2 for $10 she said. She thought it was a must buy! Then about 10 minutes later it was a snake to unclog sinks. Mind you, we don't have clogging issues, but she thought it was a must have just in case we have clogging issues in the future. I think those were 4 for $20. What a deal! The best one of all though was yesterday evening. A commercial came on selling "booty pop panties". I'm not kidding. They said we could have "the booty of our dreams". Just wear these panties and we will have an amazing tush. I heard this commercial come on while I was in the other room and the next thing I hear is Camryn laughing hysterically. She said "Mommy they said booty on TV!" I told her I would get her some for her birthday, but she wasn't too keen on the idea. I think this was one she was willing to pass up! Ha Ha!

And So It Begins...

Mobility.

Chase army crawled from the living room to the play room (which included a little step down) yesterday while we were eating dinner. Just give him a few weeks and he will be crawling all over the house getting into everything. I'm not sure if I'm quite ready for chasing after another little one! HAHA!

Grant and Food

While Grant was eating breakfast this morning I overheard him singing a Wiggles song that is to the tune of "Are You Sleeping". He was singing "I love eating, i love eating, all day long, all day long...". It was so cute to hear him sing, but then it made me think about his eating habits. When he wakes in the morning the first thing he wants is his chocolate milk and breakfast which is either pancakes (without syrup) or cereal. Then he wants to snack ALL morning. Then by 11:00 he is begging for a peanut butter sandwich. Now let me tell you this little boy LOVES his peanut butter sandwiches! If he is served something other than a peanut butter sandwich for lunch he will be very upset. He would eat a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if we let him. Then after nap he wants to snack more, but I usually don't allow him to have much because we know dinner will be served soon and I want him to be good and hungry for dinner. You see, he refuses to eat ANY kind of meat or vegetable...absolutely refuses! We offer them to him every night, but after more than a year of doing this he still refuses. So my thought is if he is REALLY hungry at dinner then maybe he will want to eat his meat and veggies. But as of yet, this strategy has not yet worked. He definitely does not take after his Daddy when it come to eating meat and potatoes. We joke that he will be a fruititarian (is that even a word?) for the rest of his life. I hope that one day he will put a piece of meat or a veggie in his mouth and think "oh this is actually really good". I mean I really cannot imagine him being sixteen years old and refusing to eat a hamburger or a hot dog!
